Fact: 78 million Baby Boomers are approaching their retirement years…but many aren’t ready to retire!
Fact: Americans are living longer, healthier lives than ever before, and they want to keep adding value for as long as possible.
Fact: Traditional “jobs” are in ever-shorter supply, while entrepreneurial ventures—solo and otherwise—are off the charts.
Yes, the landscape of the working world is changing folks and this week’s BSR Broadcast couldn’t be more timely.
Our guest, Bill Zinke of the Center for Productive Longevity, is an expert on the imperative for people age 50 and older to remain productively engaged in new-business creation. We have 99 million Americans 50+, and with all the changes in the technology and business worlds, entrepreneurship is an increasingly viable option for those who want or need to continue working.
And Bill knows what he’s talking about, with a rich background in business, human resources, and retirement/workforce planning. He’s been a management consultant since 1969, when he founded Human Resources Services, Inc (HRS). HRS has played a leadership role in confronting issues relating to aging, retirement and workforce planning since the late 1990s, and launched the Center for Productive Longevity in 2007. The Center’s mission is to stimulate the substantially increased engagement of people 50 and older in productive activities—both paid and volunteer—where they are qualified and ready to continue adding value.
