For Sara Tetreault, frugal living can be fun and fancy

Live well on less and have more time and money for the things you truly love.  Frugal can be fun and fancy!
-Sara Tetreault

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live frugally, sustainably, and stylishly?  If that sounds like an impossible dream, then you won’t want to miss the next episode of Solo Pro Radio, because for Sara Tetreault, a speaker, writer, and brand marketer, living well on less is as easy as homemade apple pie.  Join the conversation on Wednesday, March 6th…and in the meantime, check out her website!

Sara grew up recycling and reusing things long before it was considered “green.”  Her family had one car growing up, walked many places, and played outside.  Her mom sewed and cooked from scratch, and Sara even spent a summer camping, fishing, and canning salmon in Alaska with her grandparents.  Today, she is an expert at saving in style and finding that sweet spot where green and frugal living come together.  She cooks without a microwave, grows vegetables, preserves foods, and speaks, writes, and consults about living a life that is as stylish as it is frugal.  She and her family live in a modest home that they renovated themselves, and have a small yard with a vegetable garden and three chickens.  By home swapping, cooking at home instead of dining out, and buying items second-hand, they’re thriving…and doing it thriftily.

And it’s not all about self-denial!  Sara believes that living frugally in some ways allows you to live richly in others, and she loves eating good food, decorating her home, and wearing cashmere.  And traveling the world is her family’s favorite indulgence: by home swapping, they’ve traveled to Europe four times, and have done exchanges in the U.S. as well.  They’re just about ready to travel to Victoria, B.C. for swap #9!

Take a look at Sara’s fabulous blog, Go Gingham, where you’ll find information on budgeting and money management; DIY projects for home and garden; family life with a slow-living focus; cooking at home; organizing, homemaking, and meal planning; and traveling with kids on a budget.

Sara isn’t afraid to climb a dumpster or install a toilet, doesn’t have a smart phone, and has been driving the same car for 20 years.  On any given day, you’ll find her wearing secondhand clothing and a great big smile.  Want to find out how she does it? Tune in to Solo Pro radio on Wednesday, March 6th at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST (or any time after that) and learn how to live well on less!
