I met Kelly Russell at an event for ISES (International Special Events Society) where I was presenting my popular “How to Charge What You Are Worth” workshop. Kelly shared her passion about auctioneering with me and I knew she would be a wonderful guest to illustrate the journey of someone that wasn’t sure what she wanted to do when she started out her entrepreneurial career but knew she needed to make money and wanted to love what she was doing.
Once upon a time and long time ago, Kelly started her college education to become an opera singer and found that stage fright would prevent her from pursuing that career but her journey eventually led her to a job where she was exposed to an auction setting and she fell in love with the auction scene. With some encouragement from those in her community, she did the required schooling and found herself as a one woman show, auctioneering for non-profits that were near and dear to her heart. Kelly is a beautiful example of how to use your community to help you build your business. And the non-profits that hire Kelly all love her work and live happily ever after. 😛
Tune in on Wednesday, Dec. 12th at 10 AM PST/1:00 PM EST to hear the best kept secrets that Kelly has discovered. Everyone’s local community has so many things to offer to self-employed folks who want to wake up every morning knowing they are going to love what they are doing for work.
You can find more information about Kelly on her website.
