When I first met Jackie in September at the Hello Etsy conference in Portland, I was a mess.
I was considering selling my jackets online made from Pendleton wool remnants. This was in addition to my graphic design freelance gig, my retail part-time job, my freelance home decor sewing job. Somehow I was also going to get my Alexander technique practice going in Portland as well. Plus I would miraculously find time to do my own website(s)!
Needless to say when I heard Jackie’s message about focus, it grabbed my attention.
I knew I had to do something. That evening I sat quietly and came back to what I had been thinking about for over a year…focusing my Alexander Technique skills on horseback riders. I knew the die was cast. How would I make a real living at this? And market myself in an authentic way?
That’s where the Better Smarter Richer study group came in. Jackie’s openness, mama bear-style loving accountability, and help to crystalize my purpose were like motivation rocket fuel. The group was amazing. We learned from each other and celebrated our breakthroughs. One of the most powerful things about the group for me are the periodic “booster shots” we have to check in and monitor our progress.
I am now on track to open my practice next month at an amazing wellness center. I’m getting my branding and website in place (done by professionals) so I can get out there and meet my potential clients in the most credible way possible.
