Hot Tips for Your Elevator Speech

Practice your Unique Value Proposition AKA your “elevator speech” on your toughest critic….YOURSELF!

Wednesday evening we had a fabulous turn out at the free symposium at Portland Community College with Jackie B. Peterson, author of Better, Smarter, Richer.  Seven business principles for Creative Entrepreneurs and Solopreneurs.

Jackie gave us some great tips to develop our Unique Value Proposition sometimes referred to as our elevator speech.  Here are some HOT  TIPS Jackie offered about this:

You have 4.2 seconds to keep your customers attention….to answer their question…..

                “Why should I choose you?” or  “What’s in it for me?”

  • Have a friend help you discover what is unique about your business.
  • Ask your best client why they choose you.
  • Practice your Unique Value Proposition in front of the mirror until you are comfortable saying what you do and what you charge.
